Halloweenie

As promised, here are some shots from a Halloween party I attended Friday Night. I was Frida Kahlo, though I went a little overboard on the hair accessories and was mistaken for the Chiquita banana lady multiple times. I don't think she had a unibrow. Anywho...Happy Halloweenie, friends!!

Found you!!

I'm slacking on the blog again, I know. Life has been a whirlwind lately and the possibility of some major change has been on my mind. I'm one of those people that refuses to get excited about something or really even believe it's going to happen until things are totally official. So, when they are 150% official I will very very happily share. I can tell you this- this potential change will dramatically affect the content of this here blog. So stay tuned :)

That all being said, Happy Halloween! what did you all dress up as? I'll have a Halloween post coming later today or early tomorrow with shots of my very last minute costume. In the meantime, here are some pics of last week's Beetlejuice-inspired ensemble.

oops

This would happen to me....Last Friday Dani and I were in a rush to leave my place and meet up with some friends to head to an art show Downtown. I couldn't decide between brown or black boots so I put on one of each and asked Dani which she preffered. She said brown and my sorry ass forgot to make the change and left the house wearing mismatched boots! It was far too late to do anything about it by the time I realized so I put on a brave face and tried to embrace it. I wanted to be cool and not let it bother me. And I actually managed to forget for most of the night, but the few times I looked down at my Punky Brewster inspired footwear I was pretty bummed. At least until I forgot again. I can laugh about it now. My only question is this: How on earth did Dani not catch this major faux pas?? She has some explaining to do...

Fabulous

The ever so lovely Fabiana was in town a couple weekends back and as per usual we had a dinner party in her honor. Good food, good friends, lots of laughs and more than one person wearing a big bow...

Believe It Or Not

TRU, the collection I've been working on for the last year at work has finally launched online! It's currently in some small boutiques and will hopefully be in some bigger department stores soon, but for now you can purchase any piece from the collection here. I put so much of myself into this line. I worked on most of it from home, using my own beads and stones and vintage castings to make the original sample. I made sure that I would personally wear each piece in the collection, and I hope you all would too!!

Slow Steady

This week has been the craziest work week of my life. One of those weeks that makes you look back on a time you thought you were SO busy and laugh at how dramatic you were being. I've been a lifeless zombie after 6 pm and last night I was so close to making it a mellow one- watching my DVR'ed episodes of Up All Night and Modern Family. Probably would have been a good idea. Instead, I did the whole saying-yes bit and went to El Cid to see my old friend Matt Sikora perform and catch up with friends I've neglected during my recent state of hermitage.

The Other Night

Jash has been eagerly awaiting the opening of Echo Park's newest beer shop and bar, The Sunset Beer Company, so we walked right over almost immediately after they opened for business a couple weeks back. It's got the feel of an old study complete with worn leather chairs and small reading lamps. For this reason my oversize grandpa cardigan seemed an appropriate choice. The staff is ridiculously friendly and knowledgeable and enjoy discussing topics like Twin Peaks (way to my heart) and the Colts (way to Jash's heart). It's casual and not trying to hard to be cool which is refreshing. I highly recommend a visit...

Sun Is Shining

So much for Summer retiring...it's going to be in the 80's in LA this weekend!! It's all good, just another reason to bust out my favorite jean cut-off shorts. Here's what I wore when it actually felt like Fall a couple days ago...
